A leading European consultancy firm is seeking a highly experienced Control Centres Design Lead to join their team on a flagship rail infrastructure project based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This senior role is ideal for candidates currently based in KSA or the GCC, with strong expertise in the design and delivery of control centre systems for high-speed rail (HSR), mainline, conventional, or freight rail projects. (Please note: metro and LRT experience will not be considered.)

Role Overview:

As the Control Centres Design Lead, you will be responsible for managing all design activities related to Control Centres, ensuring the delivery of efficient, reliable, and compliant solutions. You will oversee contractor designs, monitor quality and timelines, and ensure seamless integration with other disciplines. You will lead design teams and coordinate closely with stakeholders to meet project objectives and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the Control Centres design discipline from concept through implementation.

  • Review and approve contractor design submissions for compliance and quality.

  • Manage plans, schedules, and execution strategies within the discipline.

  • Monitor progress, performance, and milestones, identifying and managing interfaces and risks.

  • Facilitate project meetings, document minutes, and maintain clear communications.

  • Deliver regular progress reports and lead technical presentations to the project team and stakeholders.

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 15 years post-graduate experience in railway infrastructure.

  • At least 10 years' experience in HSR, mainline, conventional, or freight rail projects.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Control Centres design and systems integration.

  • Strong leadership skills in managing multidisciplinary design teams.

  • Proven ability to manage complex project deliverables and timelines.

  • Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.

  • Ideally based in KSA or the GCC with knowledge of regional project environments.
