Fuels Site Superintendent/Quality Control Manager

We are seeking an experienced Fuels Site Superintendent/Quality Control Manager to oversee daily operations, quality assurance, safety, and compliance at a fuel storage, distribution, or terminal facility. The successful candidate will coordinate site activities, supervise personnel and subcontractors, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved procedures, contract requirements, and applicable industry standards. Responsibilities will include planning and assigning work, monitoring schedules and productivity, coordinating inspections, maintaining accurate records, and communicating operational updates to project and management teams.

The role will serve as the primary quality control resource on site, developing and implementing inspection and testing procedures for fuel systems, tanks, pipelines, loading facilities, equipment, and associated infrastructure. Duties will include reviewing drawings, specifications, work plans, and material documentation; conducting daily quality inspections; identifying deficiencies; managing corrective actions; and verifying that completed work meets required standards before acceptance. The position will also support audits, prepare quality reports, maintain document control, and ensure calibration and testing records are current. A strong focus on environmental protection, hazardous materials handling, spill prevention, emergency preparedness, and compliance with health and safety regulations is essential.

Applicants should have substantial experience in fuel operations, petroleum facilities, construction quality control, or a related field, together with demonstrated supervisory experience. Knowledge of fuel handling systems, storage tanks, piping, pumps, instrumentation, commissioning, and inspection practices is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be able to interpret technical specifications and drawings, use quality management systems, and prepare clear written reports. Relevant technical qualifications, safety certifications, and quality control credentials are advantageous. Strong leadership, organisation, problem-solving, and communication skills are required, along with the ability to work independently in a demanding site environment and respond effectively to changing priorities. A valid driving licence and willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or emergency call-outs, may be required.
