The successful candidate will coordinate site activities, supervise contractors and trades, and ensure work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, schedules, budgets and quality standards. This role will suit a practical, organised and confident construction professional who can provide clear direction while maintaining strong working relationships across the project team.

Key responsibilities include planning and coordinating daily site operations; reviewing drawings, specifications and work packages; monitoring progress against project schedules; and identifying and resolving construction issues before they affect delivery. You will oversee subcontractor performance, coordinate materials, plant and labour, and maintain accurate records including site reports, inspections, progress updates and documentation. The Project Superintendent will also work closely with project managers, engineers, consultants and clients to support programme requirements, manage changes and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Applicants should have substantial experience supervising construction projects, preferably within commercial, civil, industrial or infrastructure environments, together with a sound understanding of construction methods, health and safety requirements, quality control and relevant legislation. Strong leadership, problem-solving and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work confidently under changing priorities. A relevant trade qualification, construction management qualification or equivalent experience is desirable. We are seeking a Rail Requirements Management Specialist to support the development, delivery and assurance of complex rail systems and infrastructure projects. In this role, you will establish and maintain effective requirements management processes throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that customer, operational, technical, safety and regulatory requirements are clearly defined, traceable and verifiable. You will work closely with engineering, project management, assurance, procurement and delivery teams to ensure that requirements are understood, controlled and translated into successful project outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include eliciting, analysing, documenting and validating requirements; maintaining requirements databases and traceability matrices; managing changes, interfaces, assumptions and dependencies; and supporting the preparation of requirements specifications, compliance evidence and verification plans. You will monitor the status and quality of requirements, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and provide clear reporting on risks, issues and progress. You will also contribute to technical reviews, configuration management activities, systems engineering processes and stakeholder workshops, helping to ensure that all deliverables meet contractual, operational and safety expectations.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in requirements management, systems engineering or a related rail, transport, infrastructure or complex engineering environment. You should be confident working with structured requirements management tools and applying recognised requirements, configuration and systems engineering principles. Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels. Experience of railway standards, assurance processes, verification and validation, safety-critical systems or regulated projects would be advantageous. Applicants should have a degree or relevant academic coursework in archaeology, anthropology, cultural resource management, or a related discipline, together with practical field experience or demonstrated equivalent training. Familiarity with archaeological methods, applicable heritage legislation, GPS units, digital data collection, and Microsoft Office or comparable software is desirable. Strong attention to detail, clear written and verbal communication, sound judgement, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team are required. A valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation may be necessary, depending on assignment location. This role will provide senior technical leadership across complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects, supporting the development, review and delivery of robust, safe and sustainable solutions. You will work with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, contractors and technical stakeholders to guide projects from concept and feasibility through detailed design, construction and commissioning.

Key responsibilities will include developing and reviewing hydraulic models, design criteria, technical specifications, calculations, drawings and reports for pipelines, pumping stations, treatment-related facilities, reservoirs and associated infrastructure. You will assess system performance, transient conditions, pump selection, surge protection, network capacity and operational resilience. The role will also involve leading design reviews, identifying technical risks, resolving complex engineering issues, providing constructability advice and ensuring that designs meet applicable legislation, standards, environmental requirements and project objectives. Professional registration or chartered status, or a clear pathway toward it, is highly desirable.
