The market leading infrastructure, water & energy recruiter is seeking Senior Project Managers / Construction Managers from a Water / Wastewater background to be based out of their clients site locations in Austin TX.

Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a market leading contractor client that works in the water industry across the US. In this role, you can capitalize on your leadership and strong communication skills to direct and lead a team, manage large complex projects, and/or multiple projects while overseeing the work of one or more project managers. Effective time and team management will serve you well when you're a part of a growing organization that has consistently ranked as a leader in the design-build industry.

. Job Responsibilities:
* Partnering with project directors in responding to Request for Proposals including the preparation of conceptual estimates, schedules, and other proposal documents
* Preparing detailed estimates, cost code input, and cost control systems
* Working with directors of construction and construction core personnel to establish job organization including superintendents and self-perform craftworker requirements maintaining submittal control
* Preparing and securing owner acceptance of contract change orders
* Managing and ensuring payments to subcontractors and vendors effectively directing project close-out tasks and any warranty work
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent plus 10 years or more of experience in Industrial Water/Wastewater facility construction, design, or management preferred. Ability to Manage and be part of a team as well as the ability to develop strong business plans. Experience utilizing Microsoft products +scheduling software.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:
* Knowledge in the design and construction of Industrial Water/Wastewater facilities
* Research experience is a plus with excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills
* Excellent sales and customer relationship skills
* Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
* Abilities to work independently, manage time wisely and prioritize tasks
* Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
* This job will require 50%+ travel

Salary Package
The base salary range for this position is $150,000-$210,000. The actual salary will be determined based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

Your Role:Driving excellence through technical expertise and innovation

Project Management personnel are responsible for the overall safety, direction, completion, and financial outcome of water/ wastewater construction projects from initial budget through project closeout.

What You Will Do:

Ensure customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs.

Utilize software programs and templates to process, distribute and track all project documentation.

Negotiate subcontractor and material buyout, develop and negotiate subcontracts.

Plan and schedule projects

Manage jobs in progress including subcontractor coordination, conflict resolution, documentation, and ensuring quality and safety on every job.

Manage project costs through ongoing evaluation of labor, material and equipment, continue to forecast and analyze construction costs, exposures and profits through project completion

Perform project closeout

Capable of managing projects $20-$50 million in size

Provide leadership through building relationships, motivating others, providing clear direction, and cooperative teamwork.

Communicate effectively; both written and verbal

Provide training and serve as a member to less experienced personnel

Significant experience as a manager of water wastewater construction activities in the field. Must possess superior construction knowledge, excellent personnel management skills, scheduling expertise, good knowledge and use of cost control procedures.

Safety comes first! Required to complete work in a safe, efficient and accurate manner.

Who You Are: A Profile of Success

Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related degree or commiserate experience is highly preferred

Significant experience as a manager of water wastewater construction activities in the field. Must possess superior construction knowledge, excellent personnel management skills, scheduling expertise, good knowledge and use of cost control procedures.

5-10 years of experience in Water / Wastewater construction

Moderate to high level of proficiency operating Primavera 6 CPM scheduling software

Moderate to high level of proficiency operating MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint

Valid driver license for frequent travel

Be able to communicate in English via verbal and written communications

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Full understanding of Construction Math concepts

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry

About The Role

My client is currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support and lead critical water, wastewater, and advanced water treatment plant construction projects for both municipal and industrial clients (including advanced technology sector clients) based out of Austin, TX.

Projects may be either integrated project delivery such as CM-at-Risk or Design-Build, or traditional Design-Bid-Build.

Essential Functions


Plan, organize and staff key field positions or subordinate project managers. Coordinate staffing with US Operations and other Area department heads.
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and A/E contacts, to facilitate preconstruction and construction activities.
Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site construction managers and superintendents to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
Represent Company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect companys interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client.
Work jointly with other members of the project team to complete the MWH Constructors Management Administration Plan prior to initiating any fieldwork. Use the planning guidelines and tools provided throughout the project.
Assure that direct reporting employees follow safe work practices and use company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.
Provide leadership and technical support to project engineers, field engineers and superintendents.
Procurement of subcontractors and materials thru Purchase Agreements and Subcontracts.
Support Change Management, Cost Estimating, revenue and Cost Forecasting and Scheduling.
Assume additional responsibilities as directed by Regional Director.


Basic Qualifications


4-year engineering/construction management degree or equivalent experience and training/education.
Minimum of 8-15 years of construction, design, finance and management experience/knowledge required on heavy civil or industrial construction projects.
3 - 5 years of experience on water or wastewater plant projects.
Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities vital.
Superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential.
Strong business-orientation required. Proven experience and judgment.


Preferred Qualifications


Safety oriented, OSHA training.
Special experience and expertise with water/wastewater and/or advanced technology treatment projects.
