Chief Contracts Engineer - Dam and Hydroelectric Project

EWI is working with International Engineering Consultancy based in Europe. At this moment they are seeking Chief Contracts Engineer for Hydropower project in Pakistan (remote location)

Position details below:

Education: Msc Civil Engineering (MUST HAVE REQUIREMENT)General Experience: 20 yearsHydropower Experience: 5 years minimumRegional Experience (Asia): 5 years minimumFIDIC Red Book

Project Length: (2 year long term contract) The expert is expected to take care of the following tasks during the construction stage:

Review bidding documents from the contractual viewpoint prepared by the consultant.Support End Client running the entire bid management process through selection and negotiation of each contract package from the contractual viewpoint.Supervise all works of construction works from the contractual viewpoint.Prepare reports and documents specified in ToR.Record events leading to delay in construction activities.Execute skill transfer programs for Client personnel during construction stage.Assist in maintaining sound external relations and personnel relations.Maintain records documenting decisions made at meetings, progress of project implementation and changes to contract plans.

Project Location: Pakistan

Start Date: ASAP (pending client approval)

The package is:

Monthly net remuneration of USD (15,000 to 19,000)3 flights per year to the candidate's country of residenceFree accommodation and local transport.

Rail Resident Civil Engineer - Philippines

The market leading infrastructure recruitment specialist is seeking an experience Resident Civil Engineer with strong experience of contract management to supervise the construction of a major elevated Rail project in Manila.

Opportunity:

This would be a fantastic opportunity to join an international team of engineers working on a high-profile project in the Philippines and play a key role in its successful delivery.

Responsibilities:

The successful individual shall be supervising the construction of a number of Viaducts including 2 Elevated Stations along the line. The role shall be supervising and monitoring the International Contractor and their Joint Venture Partner. A key part of the role shall to mitigate against potential claims and help the end client to defend them hence the desire for previous contract experience.

Key responsibility of the role shall include:

Lead the construction supervision task teams. Ensure all deliverables are prepared in accordance with quality and time constraints.Ensure full and detailed permanent site records, which will include site correspondence, survey data, quality acceptance data, site diaries, measurement and certification, minutes of meetings, and records of all other contractually relevant matters.Ensure that all supervision team members undertake comprehensive day-to-day field construction supervision, quality assurance, measurements, and administration services at the siteInstruct and advise all supervision team members to maintain full and detailed permanent site records, which will include site correspondence, survey data, quality acceptance data, site diaries, measurement and certification, minutes of meetings, and records of all other contractually relevant matters.Receive, assess, and approve the contractors' implementation work plans and programmes.Ensure that the rehabilitation works are executed in accordance with all the provisions of the contract, including those relevant standards of workmanship, and other safety provisions and protection of the environment.Review of the detailed engineering design and construction plan (including shop drawings and method statements) for the Station and Mainline Traction Substation (MTS) Building structures.Review of the contractors' work plan and identifying the feasibility of their work method statements.Evaluation of claims, variations orders and value engineering proposals submitted by the contractors.Coordinating and interfacing with architectural, E&M &Track teams on matters relating to the Station and MTS Buildings.Assisting the QA/QC team, and material engineers on various Station and MTS Building structures technical matters.

Key requirements for the role:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or related subject.Over 10 years of experience in design and Construction of Buildings.Previous experience of Rail/ Metro Construction projects.FIDIC contract experience & claim defence knowledge would be advantageous.

Language:

Fluency in English writing and communication

Salary Package:

The salary for this position is $10-12,000 TAX FREE per month with an additional $3,000 for allowances.
