EWI are supporting in the search for a skilled and experienced Track Installation Supervisor to lead and oversee track installation activities on a major light rail transit infrastructure project. The ideal candidate will ensure all track works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with quality and environmental standards, while coordinating with multiple teams to keep the project on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise all track installation activities, ensuring compliance with project agreements, safety protocols, environmental standards, and quality requirements.
Manage coordination and communication between internal teams, subcontractors, and adjacent work segments to facilitate smooth operations.
Schedule and oversee adjacent works to ensure timely completion and proper sequencing of tasks.
Implement quality control procedures and conduct audits to maintain high performance standards.
Identify and drive process improvements to enhance site productivity and safety.
Provide leadership onsite, fostering confidence among project stakeholders through clear communication and proactive problem-solving.
Assist field crews by interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and installation plans, working closely with construction coordinators and management.
Contribute to planning and resource management including cost estimates, budgeting, and schedule tracking.
Monitor crew hours, approve timesheets, and ensure labor resources are managed efficiently.
Lead daily prestart meetings with crews and subcontractors to confirm daily tasks and safety briefings.
Oversee site logistics including access, material handling, and workspace setup to support efficient track installation.
Fully engage in safety programs, including inspections, incident investigations, and training initiatives.
Maintain accurate progress reports and documentation using project control software.
Perform other duties as required to support the project team.
Requirements:
Post-secondary degree, diploma in engineering, construction, or related field, OR equivalent trade certification with relevant experience.
Minimum 3 years of proven experience in heavy civil construction, specifically in track installation or similar heavy infrastructure projects, preferably within LRT or rail transit sectors.
Practical knowledge of earthworks, concrete placement, and operation alongside heavy machinery.
Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean record preferred.
Ability to safely navigate active construction sites, including climbing ladders, working outdoors in all weather conditions, and negotiating challenging terrain.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong ability to read and interpret contract documents, technical drawings, and specifications.
Demonstrated leadership and team management skills in a construction environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
Proficient with MS Office, SharePoint, and project control tools.
Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards in construction.
