We are seeking a Track Engineer (Design) to support the development and delivery of railway infrastructure projects in Dammam. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing safe, practical and compliant track design solutions across the project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept development through detailed design, construction support and handover. This role requires close collaboration with civil, geotechnical, signalling, systems, operations and construction teams to ensure that track interfaces are fully coordinated and project requirements are achieved.

Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing track alignment designs, horizontal and vertical geometry, turnout layouts, track slab or ballast arrangements, rail profiles, sleeper systems, drainage interfaces and associated permanent-way details. You will develop design calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings and schedules, ensuring that all deliverables meet relevant international standards, local regulations and project criteria. The role will also involve checking design submissions, identifying technical risks, responding to requests for information, supporting design reviews and resolving engineering issues during construction. You may be required to contribute to site inspections, assess proposed technical changes, review contractor submissions and provide engineering advice to ensure design intent is maintained.

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, railway engineering or a related discipline, together with relevant experience in railway track design or permanent-way engineering. Experience with mainline, metro, freight or high-speed rail projects will be considered advantageous. Strong knowledge of track geometry, alignment principles, construction methods, materials, interface management and applicable railway standards is essential. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRail, Bentley software or comparable design tools is preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound technical judgement, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while working effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required; knowledge of Arabic and experience working in the Gulf region would be an advantage.
