We are seeking an Assistant Track Supervisor to support the safe, efficient and reliable maintenance of railway track infrastructure. Working under the direction of the Track Supervisor, you will help coordinate field activities, monitor work progress and ensure that maintenance, inspection and renewal tasks are completed in accordance with approved plans, technical standards and safety procedures. This role involves regular work outdoors and may require travel between work locations, including work during nights, weekends and other non-standard hours.

Key responsibilities include assisting with daily work planning, assigning tasks to track maintenance crews and coordinating access to the railway right-of-way. You will help supervise activities such as track repairs, rail and tie replacement, ballast distribution, drainage work, vegetation control and snow or weather-related response. You will inspect completed work, identify defects or hazards, maintain accurate records and report issues requiring corrective action. The successful candidate will also support worksite protection, confirm that appropriate tools and equipment are available, and promote compliance with operating, environmental and occupational health and safety requirements.

Applicants should have experience in railway track maintenance, construction, civil infrastructure or a related field, along with practical knowledge of track components, maintenance methods and safe work practices. Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience is an asset. You must be able to read plans, work orders and technical documentation, use basic computer and reporting systems, and communicate effectively with team members, contractors and other stakeholders. The position requires sound judgment, physical ability to work on uneven terrain and in changing weather conditions, and the ability to work safely around moving equipment and active rail operations. A valid driver’s licence and relevant track safety or trade certifications may be required.
