You will support requirements capture, allocation, verification and validation, while identifying design risks, resolving technical issues and maintaining architectural consistency throughout the train development lifecycle. The role will also involve preparing technical documentation, design reviews and compliance evidence, as well as contributing to safety assessments, configuration management and change control. You may be required to provide technical guidance to engineers and suppliers, assess design proposals, and support testing, commissioning and fault investigation activities.

Applicants should have a degree or equivalent qualification in railway engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering or a related discipline, together with significant experience in rail vehicle design, systems integration or train architecture. A strong understanding of rolling stock subsystems, railway standards, systems engineering methods, requirements management and verification processes is essential. Experience with safety-critical engineering, interface management, technical risk assessment and working with suppliers would be advantageous. You will be an analytical and collaborative engineer with strong communication skills, the ability to make sound technical decisions, and a structured approach to solving complex problems. The role may require occasional travel to engineering, manufacturing, testing or customer sites.
