Project Interface Engineer for Signaling and SCADA
We are seeking a Project Interface Engineer for Signaling and SCADA to support the successful integration of railway control, signaling, supervision, and automation systems within a complex infrastructure project. The role will act as a key technical link between project engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, operations representatives, and other disciplines, ensuring that interfaces are clearly defined, coordinated, and delivered in accordance with approved requirements, programme milestones, and safety standards.
Responsibilities will include identifying, documenting, and managing technical and functional interfaces between signaling, SCADA, telecommunications, power, rolling stock, platform systems, and wider control systems. You will review interface control documents, system requirements, design submissions, test procedures, and change requests, while monitoring the closure of technical actions and dependencies. The successful candidate will coordinate interface meetings and workshops, maintain interface registers and risk logs, support configuration and change control, and contribute to integration, verification, validation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities. You will also assist with resolving design discrepancies, assessing technical impacts, preparing progress reports, and ensuring that interface decisions are properly recorded and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
Candidates should have a degree or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering, control systems, automation, rail engineering, or a related discipline, together with relevant experience in signaling, SCADA, railway systems integration, or major infrastructure projects. Knowledge of interface management processes, systems engineering principles, requirements management, and testing methodologies is essential. Experience with multidisciplinary coordination, technical documentation, and contractor or supplier management would be highly desirable. You should be confident interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, analysing complex technical issues, and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively under programme pressure are required. Familiarity with applicable railway standards, safety assurance processes, and configuration management practices will be an advantage.
