We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler – Train Development to support the planning and delivery of complex rail vehicle development programmes. In this role, you will create, maintain and manage integrated project schedules across engineering, design, procurement, manufacturing, testing and commissioning activities. You will work closely with project managers, engineering leads, suppliers and delivery teams to ensure programme milestones are clearly defined, achievable and aligned with contractual and operational requirements.

Your responsibilities will include developing baseline schedules, monitoring progress, updating critical path activities and identifying risks, dependencies and potential delays. You will gather schedule information from internal teams and external partners, challenge assumptions, analyse variances and provide clear progress reports to project leadership. You will also support regular planning reviews, prepare recovery and mitigation plans, and ensure that changes to scope, resources or delivery strategy are accurately reflected in the programme schedule. Maintaining effective communication across multiple workstreams will be essential to ensuring that issues are identified and addressed promptly.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in project scheduling, planning or project controls, ideally within rail, rolling stock, transport, engineering, manufacturing or another complex delivery environment. Strong knowledge of scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent is required, together with the ability to interpret programme data and communicate key information to varied stakeholders. You will be highly organised, analytical and confident working with complex information and competing priorities. Experience of risk management, earned value, resource planning and change control would be advantageous. A collaborative approach, attention to detail and the ability to influence teams without direct authority are essential. This is an opportunity to contribute to the successful development and delivery of modern train programmes within a technically demanding and highly coordinated environment.
