We are seeking an Analyst, Resource Planning & Grid Integration to support the development of reliable, efficient and future-focused energy systems. This role will contribute to planning activities that assess resource availability, demand growth, network capability and the integration of new generation, storage and flexible energy technologies. You will work with technical, commercial and operational stakeholders to translate complex data into clear insights that inform investment, connection and system planning decisions.

Key responsibilities will include analysing electricity demand, supply, network constraints and system performance; developing and maintaining forecasting, planning and scenario models; supporting resource adequacy, capacity and grid integration assessments; and evaluating the technical and operational impacts of renewable energy, battery storage, distributed energy resources and emerging technologies. You will prepare concise reports, presentations and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders, contribute to planning studies and regulatory submissions, and help identify risks, opportunities and practical solutions. The role will also involve maintaining high-quality datasets, validating assumptions, documenting methodologies and supporting continuous improvements to analytical tools and processes.

The successful candidate will have a degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, data science, energy systems or a related discipline, together with experience in resource planning, electricity markets, power systems, network planning or a comparable analytical environment. You will bring strong quantitative and problem-solving skills, confidence working with large and complex datasets, and practical experience using tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, R or specialist planning software. An understanding of grid operations, renewable integration, energy policy and industry regulations will be highly regarded. You should be able to communicate technical findings clearly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences, manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams. A proactive approach, attention to detail and commitment to safe, reliable and sustainable energy outcomes are essential.

EWI is supporting a leading global organisation within the Transmission & Distribution sector on a number of long-term substation maintenance projects across Northern Austria.

We are looking to speak with experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineers and Mechanical Maintenance Engineers who have a background in high-voltage substations and are available for an upcoming mobilisation.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned and corrective maintenance on high-voltage substation equipment.

Perform inspections, testing and fault diagnosis on primary plant.

Support outage planning and execution.

Complete maintenance reports and technical documentation.

Ensure all work is carried out in line with site safety procedures and quality standards.

Work closely with site teams to maintain the reliability and availability of transmission assets.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Experience with one or more of the following is desirable:

GIS or AIS switchgear

Circuit breakers

Disconnectors and earthing switches

Current & Voltage Transformers (CTs & VTs)

Power transformers

Protection & Control interfaces

High-voltage testing and inspections

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Experience with:

GIS mechanical maintenance

Circuit breaker mechanisms

Hydraulic and spring operating mechanisms

Gas handling and leak detection

Mechanical inspections and servicing

Switchgear overhaul and refurbishment

Preventative maintenance programmes

Requirements

Previous experience working on HV substations (110kV-400kV+)

Experience working with OEM equipment such as GE Vernova, Siemens Energy, Hitachi Energy, ABB or similar

Strong understanding of high-voltage maintenance procedures

Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance documentation

Minimum B1 German speaking required

Must be based in Austria

HSEQ Leadership
