Power Supply Engineer

We are seeking a Power Supply Engineer to design, develop, test and support reliable power conversion solutions for advanced electronic systems. In this role, you will be responsible for taking power supply concepts from initial requirements through schematic design, component selection, prototyping, validation and production release. You will work closely with electrical, mechanical, embedded software, systems and manufacturing teams to ensure that power solutions meet performance, reliability, safety, cost and schedule expectations.

Your responsibilities will include developing AC/DC and DC/DC power supply architectures, designing analogue and digital control circuits, carrying out power integrity and thermal assessments, and selecting suitable components and materials. You will create and maintain design documentation, including schematics, bills of materials, technical specifications, test plans and engineering reports. You will also perform simulation, laboratory testing and fault investigation, using appropriate measurement equipment to verify efficiency, regulation, transient response, electromagnetic compatibility and protection features. Where required, you will support design reviews, qualification activities, manufacturing introduction and resolution of field or production issues.

The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, along with professional experience in power supply design or a closely related field. Strong knowledge of switch-mode power supplies, magnetics, power semiconductors, feedback and control systems, filtering, grounding and circuit protection is essential. Experience with design and simulation tools, PCB development, safety standards and EMC compliance would be advantageous. You should be analytical, organised and confident in diagnosing complex technical problems, with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across disciplines. A practical, hands-on approach to prototyping and testing, together with a commitment to delivering robust and manufacturable designs, is required.
