Power Supply Expert

We are seeking a Power Supply Expert to provide technical leadership across the design, development, testing and qualification of power supply systems. The role will focus on ensuring reliable, efficient and compliant power solutions for complex electronic and electrical products. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to translate system requirements into robust power architectures, assess technical risks and support projects from initial concept through production and field deployment.

Your responsibilities will include defining power supply specifications, selecting suitable topologies and components, and reviewing schematics, layouts and design calculations. You will lead or support the development of AC/DC and DC/DC converters, power distribution systems, battery interfaces and protection circuits. The position will involve analysing efficiency, thermal performance, electromagnetic compatibility, power quality and reliability, as well as planning and overseeing verification, validation and environmental testing. You will investigate failures, identify root causes, recommend corrective actions and contribute to continuous improvement activities. Clear documentation of designs, test results, technical decisions and compliance evidence will also be essential.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in power electronics or power supply engineering, with a strong understanding of analogue and digital control, magnetics, semiconductor devices, protection mechanisms and thermal management. Experience with simulation, laboratory test equipment, design reviews and relevant safety and EMC standards is expected. You should be comfortable working with suppliers, manufacturing partners and cross-functional stakeholders, while managing priorities and communicating complex technical information clearly. A degree or equivalent qualification in electrical or electronic engineering is preferred, together with a structured, practical approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering safe, dependable and high-quality solutions.
