Senior Water Supply Engineer / Project Manager

We are seeking a Senior Water Supply Engineer / Project Manager to lead the planning, design and delivery of complex water supply infrastructure projects. This role will suit an experienced professional with strong technical expertise, commercial awareness and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams from project inception through to completion. You will be responsible for developing practical, sustainable and cost-effective solutions that meet client requirements, regulatory standards and long-term operational needs.

Key responsibilities will include managing feasibility studies, concept and detailed designs for water supply systems, including treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines, reservoirs and associated infrastructure. You will prepare technical specifications, calculations, reports, cost estimates and tender documentation, as well as reviewing designs and providing technical assurance. The successful candidate will coordinate internal specialists, contractors, consultants and stakeholders, while monitoring programme, budget, quality, risk and health and safety performance. You will also support procurement, contract administration, construction supervision, commissioning and handover activities, ensuring that projects are delivered to the required standards.

Applicants should hold a degree in civil, water or environmental engineering, or a closely related discipline, with substantial experience delivering water supply or related infrastructure projects. Professional registration or chartered status is desirable, together with proven project management experience and knowledge of relevant design codes, regulatory requirements and construction practices. Strong communication, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Experience with project management methodologies, design software, hydraulic modelling tools and common contract forms will be advantageous. The role requires a proactive and collaborative approach, sound commercial judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high technical and professional standards.
