Power Supply Project Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced Power Supply Project Engineering Manager to lead the technical delivery of complex power supply and electrical infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for managing engineering activities from concept and design through to installation, testing, commissioning, and handover. Working closely with project managers, customers, suppliers, contractors, and internal engineering teams, you will ensure that solutions are safe, compliant, technically robust, and delivered to agreed quality, cost, and schedule requirements.

Your responsibilities will include developing and reviewing engineering strategies, specifications, designs, calculations, and technical documentation; coordinating multidisciplinary design teams; managing interfaces between power supply, control, protection, civil, mechanical, communications, and operational systems; and overseeing design reviews, risk assessments, technical approvals, and configuration control. You will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, resolve engineering issues, support procurement and supplier management, and ensure that testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities are planned and completed effectively. You will also contribute to continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned, improving engineering processes, and promoting consistent standards across projects.

Applicants should have significant experience delivering power supply, electrical infrastructure, rail, transport, utilities, or similarly complex engineering projects, together with a degree or equivalent qualification in electrical or power engineering. Professional registration or progress toward chartered status is desirable. You will need a strong understanding of high- and low-voltage systems, electrical protection, earthing, power distribution, safety requirements, and relevant industry standards. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, planning, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to lead technical teams and make sound decisions in a demanding project environment. Experience with design assurance, engineering governance, commissioning, and contractor management would be advantageous. A proactive, collaborative approach and a commitment to safety, quality, and technical excellence are required.
