Power Supply – OCS Engineer – Local Vietnamese

We are seeking a Power Supply and Overhead Contact System (OCS) Engineer to support the design, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of railway electrification systems in Vietnam. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering, construction and operations teams to ensure that traction power and OCS systems are delivered safely, reliably and in accordance with approved technical requirements, local regulations and international railway standards.

Key responsibilities will include reviewing design documents, technical specifications, calculations, drawings and method statements for power supply, traction substations, feeder systems, sectioning arrangements, return circuits, earthing and bonding, and overhead line equipment. You will coordinate interfaces between OCS, civil works, signalling, telecommunications, rolling stock and utility providers; support site inspections and construction supervision; identify technical issues and propose practical solutions; and monitor progress, quality and compliance. The role will also involve witnessing factory and site acceptance tests, supporting system integration, preparing inspection and test records, contributing to commissioning activities, and assisting with troubleshooting during trial operations and handover.

Candidates should hold a degree in electrical engineering, railway engineering or a related discipline, with relevant experience in traction power, overhead catenary or railway electrification projects. Knowledge of medium- and high-voltage systems, electrical protection, power distribution, railway earthing, safety procedures and OCS installation practices is essential. Experience with engineering software, technical documentation and interface management will be advantageous. The ability to interpret electrical schematics and construction drawings, communicate effectively with contractors and consultants, and work methodically under project deadlines is required. Fluency in Vietnamese and professional English, both written and spoken, is essential. A proactive approach, strong attention to detail and a commitment to safe engineering practices are expected.
