We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator – Civil to lead the preparation of accurate, competitive, and commercially sound estimates for civil construction projects. This role will be responsible for reviewing tender documentation, interpreting project specifications, assessing construction methodologies, and developing detailed pricing submissions across earthworks, roads, drainage, utilities, concrete, and other civil infrastructure works.

You will manage the estimating process from initial opportunity review through to tender submission. Key responsibilities include preparing detailed quantity take-offs, reviewing drawings and scopes of work, obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations, developing construction programs and cost plans, and identifying project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and opportunities. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and commercial personnel to ensure estimates reflect practical delivery requirements and current market conditions. The role will also involve maintaining estimating systems, reviewing historical cost data, supporting value engineering initiatives, and presenting tender outcomes to senior stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have substantial estimating experience within the civil construction or infrastructure sector, with a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labour requirements, plant, subcontractor engagement, and project costs. Experience estimating complex tenders and major infrastructure projects will be highly regarded. You will be confident reading technical drawings and contract documentation, using estimating and spreadsheet software, and managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and organisational skills are essential, together with a methodical approach and a high level of commercial awareness. A relevant qualification in civil engineering, quantity surveying, construction management, or a related discipline is desirable, along with a proven ability to work collaboratively and contribute to successful tender strategies.
