We are seeking an experienced Civil Works Interface Lead Engineer to coordinate the successful integration of civil engineering activities across a complex infrastructure or construction programme. This role will act as the key interface between civil works teams, design disciplines, contractors, utilities, stakeholders and project controls, ensuring that technical requirements, construction interfaces and delivery objectives are clearly understood and effectively managed.

Responsibilities will include leading the identification, assessment and resolution of civil interface issues; coordinating design development, reviews and approvals; and ensuring that civil works are aligned with structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, utilities and systems requirements. You will maintain interface registers, action trackers and technical records, monitor dependencies and constraints, and facilitate regular coordination meetings and workshops. The role will also involve reviewing contractor submissions, method statements, temporary works proposals, requests for information, technical queries and design changes, ensuring that impacts on safety, quality, programme and cost are properly assessed. You will support construction planning, site coordination, inspections and assurance activities, escalating risks and unresolved issues where appropriate.

Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, construction engineering or a related discipline, together with substantial experience delivering major civil works, infrastructure or multidisciplinary construction projects. Professional registration or membership of a recognised engineering institution is desirable. You will need a strong understanding of civil design principles, construction methodologies, engineering standards, quality assurance and health and safety requirements. Experience managing interfaces across multiple contractors and disciplines is essential, as is the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and schedules. Strong communication, negotiation, organisation and problem-solving skills are required, along with confidence working with senior stakeholders and diverse project teams. A proactive approach, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a demanding delivery environment will be highly valued.
