We are seeking an experienced Piping Superintendent to oversee piping construction activities on industrial projects from planning through completion. The successful candidate will coordinate site operations, supervise subcontractors and craft personnel, and ensure all work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, schedules, and quality standards. This role requires strong field leadership, sound technical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering, project management, commissioning, safety, and quality teams.
Responsibilities include reviewing piping plans, isometrics, material requirements, work packages, and installation sequences; coordinating manpower, equipment, materials, and access requirements; and monitoring daily progress against project milestones. You will lead pre-task planning and toolbox meetings, enforce safe work practices, identify and resolve field issues, and support inspections, testing, punch-list completion, and system turnover. The role will also involve tracking productivity, reporting progress, maintaining accurate records, supporting schedule recovery initiatives, and ensuring piping activities comply with applicable codes, client requirements, and company procedures. You will be expected to identify potential delays or construction risks early and implement practical solutions in coordination with project leadership.
Applicants should have substantial experience supervising piping installation on industrial, energy, manufacturing, chemical, or similar construction projects, with a strong understanding of fabrication, fit-up, welding, supports, hydrostatic testing, flushing, reinstatement, and commissioning preparation. The ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation is essential. Strong communication, organisation, problem-solving, and team-management skills are required, along with a demonstrated commitment to safety and quality. A relevant trade qualification, technical certification, or equivalent practical experience is preferred. Candidates must be comfortable working in a demanding site environment, managing changing priorities, and providing clear direction to diverse project teams.
