Systems Assurance Manager - Light Rail Transit

EWI are supporting a major player in the transportation infrastructure sector who are seeking an experienced Systems Assurance Manager to support a large-scale Light Rail Transit project in Canada. This is a key leadership role focused on ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of all integrated LRT systems through all phases of delivery and into commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the systems assurance strategy for all major subsystems including signalling, communications, power supply, and vehicles

  • Implement and oversee quality assurance frameworks, audits, and inspections across technical disciplines

  • Ensure strict compliance with relevant local and international safety and regulatory standards

  • Identify system-related risks and lead investigations into failures or incidents, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective action

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, and safety teams to drive cross-functional coordination

  • Monitor and analyse system performance, producing detailed reports for senior leadership and stakeholders

  • Provide training and mentoring to internal teams on assurance and quality best practices

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Safety, Transportation, or a related field (Master's preferred)

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in systems assurance, safety management, or quality assurance in a transit or rail environment

  • Solid understanding of systems engineering, regulatory frameworks, and risk management principles

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Experience conducting audits and leading investigations

  • Professional certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, etc.) are considered an asset
