We are seeking an organised and detail-focused Project Scheduler to support the successful planning and delivery of complex projects. This role will be responsible for developing, maintaining and reporting against project schedules, ensuring that activities, milestones, resources and dependencies are clearly understood and effectively managed.
Working closely with project managers, delivery teams, technical specialists and external partners, you will provide accurate scheduling information to support informed decision-making. You will identify potential delays, highlight schedule risks and help teams develop practical recovery plans. The successful candidate will be confident working across multiple projects and comfortable managing changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using appropriate planning and scheduling tools.
- Work with project teams to define activities, durations, dependencies, milestones and resource requirements.
- Monitor progress against approved baselines and provide regular schedule updates and reports.
- Identify critical path activities, slippage, resource constraints and emerging schedule risks.
- Support impact assessments and the preparation of mitigation or recovery plans.
- Coordinate planning meetings, gather progress information and ensure schedule data is accurate and current.
- Prepare clear dashboards, forecasts and management reports for project stakeholders.
- Maintain effective records of assumptions, changes, approvals and schedule performance.
About you
You will have proven experience in project planning, scheduling or project controls, ideally within a complex engineering, construction, infrastructure, technology or operational environment. You should have a strong understanding of scheduling principles, project lifecycles, dependencies and change control.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, as you will need to build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels. You will be analytical, methodical and confident challenging information where necessary. Experience with scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent is desirable, alongside strong capability in Microsoft Excel.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional who enjoys bringing structure to complex work and helping project teams deliver their objectives on time. A relevant qualification in project management, planning or project controls would be advantageous.
