Construction Scheduler
Construction Scheduler
An experienced Construction Scheduler is required to support the successful planning and delivery of major construction projects. This role will involve developing, maintaining and reviewing detailed programmes, ensuring that work is sequenced effectively and key milestones are achieved safely, on time and within budget.
Working closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, consultants and other stakeholders, you will provide accurate schedule information and identify potential delays before they affect delivery. You will contribute to both short-term planning and longer-term programme development, helping project teams make informed decisions throughout the construction lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, develop and maintain detailed construction programmes using recognised planning software.
- Coordinate programme updates with project managers, engineers, commercial teams and site personnel.
- Monitor progress against baseline schedules and investigate variances, delays and changes.
- Produce progress reports, look-ahead schedules, dashboards and recovery plans as required.
- Analyse project risks, dependencies, resources and constraints, providing practical recommendations.
- Support planning workshops, progress meetings and programme reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assess the impact of design changes, variations and unforeseen site conditions on project completion dates.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure programme information is communicated clearly and consistently.
About you
You will have proven experience in a planning or scheduling role within the construction, engineering, infrastructure or related sectors. A strong understanding of construction methodologies, project controls and critical path analysis is essential, together with the ability to interpret technical information and translate it into realistic, deliverable programmes.
You should be confident using planning tools such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject or Microsoft Project, and be comfortable working with spreadsheets and reporting systems. Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills are required, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and build effective relationships at all levels.
A relevant qualification in construction, engineering, project management or a related discipline would be advantageous. This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to complex projects within a collaborative and professionally focused environment.
