We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Environmental Planner to lead and deliver a diverse portfolio of environmental planning and assessment projects. This role will involve managing projects from initial scoping through to completion, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and providing high-quality advice to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities. Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing environmental impact assessments, planning reports, environmental management plans, and approval documentation; coordinating field investigations, technical specialists, consultants, and contractors; managing project scope, budgets, schedules, risks, and quality requirements; and supporting statutory approvals, consultation processes, and regulatory engagement. You will identify potential environmental constraints and opportunities, develop practical mitigation strategies, and communicate technical findings clearly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences. The role may also involve mentoring junior staff, contributing to business development, preparing proposals, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and project partners.

To be successful, you will have a degree or equivalent qualification in environmental planning, environmental science, planning, sustainability, or a related discipline, together with substantial experience delivering environmental planning or assessment projects. Strong knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, planning frameworks, approval pathways, and consultation practices is essential. You will bring excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound commercial and project management capability, and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and engaging confidently with regulators, communities, and technical experts will be highly regarded. A proactive, collaborative approach and a commitment to quality, safety, ethical practice, and sustainable outcomes are also important.
