Signalling System Engineer – Local Vietnamese

We are seeking a Signalling System Engineer with strong local knowledge of Vietnam to support the design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance of railway signalling systems. The successful candidate will contribute to safe, reliable, and compliant signalling solutions across project stages, working closely with engineering, operations, construction, suppliers, and client representatives. This role requires a practical understanding of local railway conditions, regulations, infrastructure, and project delivery expectations.

Key responsibilities include reviewing technical requirements and system specifications; preparing and checking engineering documentation, drawings, interface control documents, test procedures, and technical reports; supporting signalling design activities covering interlocking, train detection, point machines, level crossings, signals, communications, and train control interfaces; and coordinating interfaces with track, power, telecommunications, rolling stock, civil works, and control centre systems. You will participate in factory acceptance testing, site installation inspections, integration testing, commissioning, fault investigation, and system performance reviews. The role also involves identifying technical risks, supporting safety assurance activities, tracking design changes, and ensuring that deliverables meet applicable standards, project requirements, and local approval processes.

Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in railway signalling, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, control systems, or a related discipline, together with relevant experience in signalling system engineering or railway infrastructure projects. Knowledge of signalling principles, railway safety requirements, systems engineering, verification and validation, and configuration management is highly desirable. Experience with local Vietnamese railway standards, authorities, contractors, and working practices will be valued. Strong analytical, documentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural project environment. Professional fluency in English and Vietnamese is required, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to both engineering and non-technical audiences. Occasional travel to project and testing sites may be necessary.
