Track Engineer – Local Vietnamese

We are seeking a Track Engineer – Local Vietnamese to support the planning, design, construction, inspection, and maintenance of railway track and associated infrastructure. The successful candidate will contribute local technical knowledge and practical experience to ensure that track works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved engineering standards, project specifications, and applicable Vietnamese regulations.

Key responsibilities will include reviewing drawings, technical submissions, method statements, inspection and test plans, and construction schedules; monitoring track installation, alignment, geometry, drainage, ballast, sleepers, rails, turnouts, and related civil works; and identifying technical issues or non-conformities before recommending appropriate corrective actions. You will coordinate with contractors, consultants, surveyors, site teams, and project stakeholders, attend technical and progress meetings, and prepare clear reports covering quality, progress, risks, and outstanding works. The role will also involve supporting design reviews, responding to requests for information, checking quantities and measurements, and assisting with testing, commissioning, handover, and the resolution of defects.

Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, railway engineering, transportation engineering, or a related discipline, with practical experience in railway track construction, maintenance, or infrastructure delivery. Strong knowledge of local standards, permitting requirements, construction practices, and supply chains in Vietnam is essential, together with the ability to communicate effectively in Vietnamese and English. Experience working on major rail, metro, or urban transit projects will be highly valued. You should be confident interpreting technical documentation, using engineering and reporting software, and working independently while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, programme, and cost. A proactive approach, sound judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to build effective relationships across multicultural teams are also required.
