Designer - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking a Designer – Water/Wastewater to support the delivery of high-quality infrastructure and engineering projects across the water sector. This role will involve producing accurate, practical and coordinated design solutions for water and wastewater treatment, network and associated infrastructure projects. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, technicians, clients and external stakeholders to ensure designs meet technical, environmental, safety and regulatory requirements.

Your responsibilities will include preparing drawings, layouts, specifications, schedules and other design deliverables using appropriate design software. You will contribute to the development of concept, detailed and construction designs, review technical information, assist with design calculations, and ensure documentation is completed to the required standards. You will also support site surveys, design reviews, design risk assessments, technical queries and the resolution of construction issues. Maintaining strong communication with project teams and coordinating interfaces between disciplines will be an important part of the role.

Applicants should have relevant experience in water, wastewater, civil, mechanical or process infrastructure design, with a sound understanding of engineering principles and industry standards. Proficiency in relevant CAD and design tools is required, along with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and survey information. Experience with water or wastewater treatment works, pipelines, pumping stations or network assets would be advantageous. You should be organised, detail-focused and confident managing priorities to meet project deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative approach and a commitment to quality, health and safety are essential. Relevant technical qualifications or professional membership will be welcomed, as will a willingness to develop your skills through varied project experience.
