We are seeking a Senior Wastewater Process Engineer to lead the development, optimisation and delivery of wastewater treatment solutions across a range of complex infrastructure and industrial projects. This role will suit an experienced process engineering professional who can combine strong technical expertise with practical delivery skills, commercial awareness and effective stakeholder management.

You will be responsible for developing process designs, calculations, specifications, technical reports and equipment schedules for wastewater treatment systems. Duties will include assessing influent and effluent characteristics, preparing process flow diagrams and mass balances, completing hydraulic and process modelling, and selecting appropriate treatment technologies. You will provide technical input throughout design, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational support, while ensuring solutions meet regulatory, environmental, health and safety requirements. The role will also involve reviewing contractor submissions, managing technical risks, supporting bids and tenders, and identifying opportunities to improve plant performance, energy efficiency, resilience and whole-life value.

The successful candidate will have a degree in chemical, environmental, civil or process engineering, together with substantial experience in wastewater treatment design and delivery. Professional registration or an equivalent recognised qualification is desirable. You should have a thorough understanding of biological and physical-chemical treatment processes, process control, sludge treatment and water quality requirements, supported by experience using relevant design and modelling tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to explain complex technical matters clearly to clients, colleagues and non-technical stakeholders. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, mentoring engineers and managing competing priorities will be highly valued.
