We are seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to oversee the successful delivery of complex healthcare construction projects from mobilisation through to completion. This role will provide senior field leadership on active hospital, clinical, laboratory, or other healthcare facilities, ensuring that work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will coordinate daily site operations and act as the principal point of contact for field teams, subcontractors, consultants, client representatives, and project leadership.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining detailed construction schedules; coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, testing, and commissioning activities; reviewing drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals; and identifying and resolving constructability, sequencing, and site logistics issues. You will lead daily coordination meetings, monitor productivity and workmanship, enforce site safety requirements, and maintain accurate records of progress, changes, delays, and site conditions. The role will also require close collaboration with project managers and design teams to manage quality assurance, infection-control procedures, shutdowns, phasing, and work in occupied or operational healthcare environments.
Applicants should have significant experience supervising large-scale commercial or healthcare construction projects, with a strong understanding of hospital construction, building systems, regulatory requirements, and commissioning processes. Proven experience leading multiple trades and subcontractors, interpreting construction documents, and managing challenging schedules is essential. Strong communication, organisation, leadership, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the confidence to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. A relevant construction qualification, recognised safety training, and experience with construction management software and scheduling tools are desirable. The successful candidate must be willing to work on active project sites and demonstrate a consistent commitment to safety, quality, professionalism, and client satisfaction.
