We are seeking a Project Manager I to support the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from planning through to completion. This role is suited to an organised and motivated professional who can coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage project information, and help ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed requirements. You will contribute to projects involving water networks, treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines, asset upgrades, and related civil infrastructure.
Key responsibilities will include assisting with project planning, scope definition, schedules, budgets, procurement, risk management, and quality controls. You will coordinate internal teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders, maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle. The role will involve monitoring progress, reviewing technical documentation, supporting design and construction activities, tracking costs and changes, and preparing regular reports for project leadership. You will also help identify and resolve issues, maintain project records, support approvals and compliance requirements, and contribute to commissioning, handover, and close-out activities. A strong commitment to health, safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance is essential.
Applicants should have a degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related discipline. Previous experience supporting or managing infrastructure, utilities, water, wastewater, or civil engineering projects is desirable. You will need strong organisational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, together with the ability to prioritise competing demands and work collaboratively with varied stakeholders. Familiarity with project management principles, scheduling and cost-control practices, contract administration, risk management, and common digital project tools will be advantageous. A professional approach, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and the ability to take ownership of assigned work are essential. Relevant professional certification or eligibility for membership of an appropriate industry body would be beneficial.
