As an Engineering Graduate, Rail and Transit, you will support the planning, design, delivery and improvement of rail and public transport infrastructure and systems. Working alongside experienced engineers and project teams, you will contribute to projects across areas such as rail alignment, stations, track, signalling, traction power, drainage, civil structures, transport planning and asset management. You will assist with technical investigations, site inspections, data collection, design development, calculations, reports, drawings and technical documentation, while developing an understanding of safety, quality, sustainability and constructability requirements.

Your responsibilities will include helping to coordinate tasks across multidisciplinary teams, reviewing technical information, identifying issues and supporting practical solutions. You may contribute to feasibility studies, options assessments, engineering reviews, risk assessments, procurement documentation and construction support. The role may involve attending project and site meetings, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, monitoring progress against agreed requirements and maintaining accurate project records. You will be encouraged to work towards professional registration and take part in structured learning, mentoring and development activities.

You will be suited to this opportunity if you have, or are expecting to obtain, a relevant engineering degree in civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, systems, transport or a related discipline. Some exposure to rail, transit, infrastructure, construction or consulting environments is desirable, but not essential. You should have strong analytical, communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to organise competing priorities and produce clear, accurate work. A proactive approach, attention to detail and willingness to learn are essential. You must be committed to working safely and ethically, comfortable collaborating with people from different technical backgrounds and willing to undertake site visits where required. Knowledge of engineering design software, computer-aided design, data analysis or project management tools would be advantageous.
