We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead and coordinate design activities across a range of projects from concept through to completion. You will work closely with clients, consultants, project managers, contractors and internal teams to ensure design solutions are practical, compliant, cost-effective and aligned with programme requirements.

Your responsibilities will include managing design development, reviewing drawings and specifications, coordinating multidisciplinary information, and identifying and resolving technical issues at an early stage. You will oversee design deliverables, maintain design registers and trackers, manage change control, and support the preparation of tenders, estimates and project documentation. The role will also involve chairing design meetings, monitoring consultant performance, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and contributing to risk management, value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.

Applicants should have proven experience in a Design Manager or similar design coordination role, ideally within construction, engineering, property or a related technical sector. You will have strong knowledge of design processes, building regulations, health and safety requirements and quality assurance procedures, together with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills are essential, as is the confidence to manage competing priorities and influence stakeholders at all levels. Relevant professional qualifications or membership of a recognised industry body would be advantageous.
