We are seeking an Environmental / CEQA Project Manager to lead the delivery of environmental planning and compliance projects across a range of public and private-sector developments. This role will manage projects from initial scoping through regulatory approval, ensuring that work is technically robust, commercially sound, and delivered on schedule. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, agencies, technical specialists, consultants, and community stakeholders to identify environmental constraints, evaluate project impacts, and develop practical mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities will include preparing and managing CEQA documents, including Initial Studies, Negative Declarations, Mitigated Negative Declarations, Environmental Impact Reports, and related technical studies. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, oversee budgets and schedules, review technical analyses, manage subcontractors, and ensure deliverables meet applicable legal, regulatory, and professional standards. The role will also involve conducting impact assessments, developing mitigation monitoring and reporting programs, supporting public outreach and agency consultation, responding to comments, and presenting findings to clients, planning commissions, governing bodies, and community groups. You may also contribute to proposals, business development, staff mentoring, and the continuous improvement of environmental processes and services.

Applicants should have a degree in environmental planning, environmental science, urban planning, natural resources, or a related discipline, together with substantial experience managing CEQA projects. Strong knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, local planning requirements, and environmental permitting processes is expected. Experience with land development, infrastructure, transportation, renewable energy, or public-sector projects would be advantageous. You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgement, strong organisational ability, and confidence managing multiple priorities. Familiarity with project management tools, environmental databases, and technical review processes is desirable. The ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, attend occasional evening meetings, and travel to project sites or stakeholder meetings as required is also important.
