About the Project

EWI is supporting a leading international civil engineering company in the recruitment of an Accountant to join their local finance team in Sweden.

The role is based on the STEGRA Project in Boden, Sweden - one of Europe's most ambitious green infrastructure initiatives. The project involves the construction of a green steel mill and an electrolysis plant, powered entirely by renewable electricity and water from the Lule River. The aim is to produce 5 million tonnes of high-quality green steel by 2030.

Key facilities include:

• Water Treatment Plant (WT2)

• Hydrogen Manufacturing Plant (HMP)

The Role - Main Responsibilities

As an Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant financial operations for the project. Reporting to the Chief Accountant, your main duties will include:

• Recording daily accounting entries and managing supplier and customer accounts.

• Supporting monthly closings and financial reporting.

• Assisting with tax declarations and ensuring compliance with Swedish regulations.

• Reconciling bank statements and monitoring payment schedules.

• Supporting project teams with cost tracking and financial queries.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a finance professional with the following background:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in accounting.

• Proven experience in Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, or Finland) with solid knowledge of local accounting and tax regulations.

• Strong understanding of Swedish GAAP and tax procedures.

• Fluency in English (Swedish language skills are a strong asset).

• Organised, reliable, and collaborative team player.
