We are seeking an Engineer I – Water Resources to support the planning, design, and delivery of water resources and civil infrastructure projects. This entry-level role is suited to a motivated engineering professional who is developing practical experience in hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, drainage, flood risk, or related disciplines. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary project team, contributing to projects from initial investigation and concept development through to detailed design, approvals, and construction support.

Key responsibilities will include preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates; assisting with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling; analysing rainfall, flow, survey, and other environmental data; and supporting the assessment and design of drainage networks, stormwater systems, flood mitigation measures, watercourses, and related infrastructure. You may also assist with site inspections, field investigations, condition assessments, tender documentation, construction observations, and responses to technical queries. The role will involve coordinating with senior engineers, planners, surveyors, contractors, regulators, and clients to help deliver accurate, practical, and compliant outcomes.

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, water resources engineering, or a closely related discipline, with eligibility for professional registration where applicable. Some experience through internships, graduate placements, or project work is desirable. Familiarity with engineering design standards, technical documentation, GIS, CAD, spreadsheets, and water resources software will be valued. Strong analytical, communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with attention to detail and a willingness to learn. You should be able to manage priorities, work collaboratively, and contribute positively in both office and field environments. A current driver’s licence and the ability to undertake occasional site travel may be required.
