Engineer I - Water Resources
We are seeking an Engineer I – Water Resources to support the planning, design, and delivery of water-related infrastructure and environmental projects. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers, you will contribute to studies and designs involving stormwater management, drainage systems, flood risk assessment, water distribution, watershed planning, and related civil engineering works. This is an opportunity to develop practical experience across project phases while building strong technical, communication, and project delivery skills.
Responsibilities will include preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and permit documentation; assisting with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling; reviewing survey, geotechnical, and environmental information; and supporting field investigations, site inspections, and construction activities. You may use industry-standard design and modelling software to analyse data, evaluate alternatives, and develop solutions that meet applicable regulations, client requirements, and industry standards. The role will also involve coordinating with internal teams, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders, participating in meetings, tracking project tasks, and maintaining accurate project records.
The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering, or a closely related discipline. Relevant internship, co-op, or entry-level experience is advantageous, particularly in stormwater, drainage, hydrology, hydraulics, or civil infrastructure. Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS applications, and hydrologic or hydraulic modelling software is preferred. You should have strong analytical and written communication skills, sound attention to detail, and the ability to manage priorities in a collaborative environment. An enthusiasm for learning, a commitment to quality and safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a project team are essential. Eligibility for professional engineering registration, or progress toward it, will be considered an advantage.
