Senior Project Engineer, Water Resources

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer, Water Resources to lead the planning, design and delivery of complex water infrastructure and resource management projects. This role will suit an experienced civil or water resources engineer who can combine strong technical capability with commercial awareness, effective stakeholder engagement and confident project leadership. You will contribute to projects spanning flood risk management, drainage, stormwater, waterways, water supply, treatment infrastructure and related civil works.

Your responsibilities will include managing projects from feasibility and concept development through to detailed design, approvals, procurement and construction support. You will prepare and review technical reports, hydraulic and hydrologic assessments, design calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors and authorities, while monitoring scope, programme, budget, quality, safety and environmental requirements. The role will also involve identifying project risks, developing practical engineering solutions, mentoring less experienced team members and providing technical input to tenders, business development activities and client presentations.

To be successful, you will hold a degree in civil engineering, water engineering or a related discipline, together with substantial experience delivering water resources or civil infrastructure projects. Professional registration or eligibility for registration will be highly regarded. You will have sound knowledge of relevant standards, legislation, design practices and approval processes, as well as experience using industry software for hydraulic modelling, hydrology, drainage or civil design. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence project outcomes. You will be organised, commercially minded and comfortable working independently while collaborating across technical disciplines.
