We are seeking an experienced RAMS Lead to provide professional leadership across reliability, availability, maintainability and safety activities throughout the full engineering lifecycle. The successful candidate will develop and implement RAMS strategies, plans and processes, ensuring that project and operational requirements are clearly defined, traceable and effectively managed from concept through to delivery, commissioning and in-service support.

Key responsibilities will include leading RAMS assessments, hazard identification and risk analysis; maintaining hazard logs, assurance evidence and requirements traceability; and producing or reviewing safety cases, reliability predictions, FMEA/FMECA, fault-tree analyses, maintainability assessments and RAMS reports. You will work closely with engineering, design, systems, operations, maintenance, quality and project teams to identify risks, agree mitigations and ensure that technical solutions meet applicable standards, legislation, contractual obligations and customer requirements. The role will also involve facilitating workshops, reviewing supplier documentation, supporting audits and assurance reviews, monitoring performance indicators, and presenting clear technical recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Applicants should have substantial experience in a RAMS, systems assurance, safety engineering or equivalent role, ideally within a complex, regulated engineering, transport, infrastructure, defence, energy or manufacturing environment. A strong understanding of relevant RAMS and functional safety standards, lifecycle processes, risk management techniques and configuration or change control is essential. You will be confident working with multidisciplinary teams, managing competing priorities and communicating complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Professional engineering registration or membership of an appropriate engineering or safety body would be advantageous. The position requires a proactive, analytical and collaborative individual who can influence effectively, work independently and maintain a rigorous focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.
