Overview

Our client who is a specialist electrical engineering consultancy, focused on data centres and high-voltage infrastructure projects, is looking for an experienced Commercial QS.

The Commercial Quantity Surveyor provides full commercial and contractual management across EPC substation projects, ensuring effective cost control, risk management, and contract compliance from project award through to final account.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage commercial aspects of projects from pre-contract to final account
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and CVRs
• Manage subcontract procurement and performance
• Assess payments, variations, and change control
• Support contract administration (NEC/FIDIC)
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks
• Prepare valuations, applications, and final accounts
• Support reporting to senior management.

Required Qualifications and Competencies:

• Experience in EPC, substation, or infrastructure projects
• Strong contract and commercial knowledge (NEC/FIDIC)
• Experience managing subcontract packages
• Strong cost control and forecasting expertise
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
