We are seeking a Senior Wayside Civil Manager – Signalling to lead the planning, design coordination and delivery of civil infrastructure supporting railway signalling systems. This is a senior role responsible for ensuring that wayside civil works are safe, compliant, constructible and delivered to programme, cost and quality requirements across complex rail infrastructure projects.

You will manage civil activities associated with signalling installations, including equipment bases, foundations, location cases, cable routes, troughing, ducts, drainage, access arrangements, earthworks and associated structures. Responsibilities will include reviewing designs and construction methodologies, coordinating civil requirements with signalling, track, power and telecommunications disciplines, and overseeing technical queries, design changes, risk assessments and interface management. You will provide leadership to internal teams, consultants and contractors, monitor progress against key milestones, and ensure that works are delivered in accordance with approved plans, applicable standards and project assurance processes. The role will also involve supporting procurement, reviewing contractor submissions, managing defects and driving safe, efficient construction outcomes on site.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience managing civil works within rail, transport or other safety-critical infrastructure environments, with a strong understanding of wayside signalling assets and their construction interfaces. A relevant degree or professional qualification in civil engineering, construction management or a related discipline is expected, together with demonstrable experience managing multidisciplinary teams, contractors, budgets and delivery programmes. Knowledge of railway standards, health and safety legislation, quality assurance and environmental requirements is essential. You will be a confident communicator and practical problem solver, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels and making sound decisions in a demanding operational environment. The ability to work across project offices and active worksites, including occasional travel and out-of-hours activities, is required.
