A Solar Field Service Lead is needed for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Brookesmith, Texas. This hands-on leadership role will oversee the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of solar energy systems and related electrical equipment. The successful candidate will guide field technicians, coordinate daily activities, promote safe work practices, and help ensure projects are completed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with technical specifications.

Responsibilities include leading crews at solar field sites, assigning work, monitoring progress, and providing on-the-job guidance and training. You will inspect equipment and installations, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and coordinate corrective actions. The role will also involve reviewing drawings, manuals, and work orders; documenting service activities; maintaining accurate records; communicating project updates; and coordinating with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and site representatives. The Field Service Lead will be expected to identify potential risks, support quality assurance efforts, and ensure compliance with applicable safety procedures, electrical codes, and environmental requirements.

Qualified candidates should have experience servicing, installing, or maintaining solar photovoltaic systems, industrial electrical equipment, or comparable energy infrastructure. Previous lead, foreman, or crew coordination experience is strongly preferred. A solid understanding of DC and AC electrical systems, inverters, wiring, testing equipment, and safe lockout/tagout procedures is required. The ability to read technical documentation, use hand and power tools, troubleshoot independently, and work effectively at heights and outdoors in changing weather conditions is essential. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills are important. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel or work extended hours when project demands require it may be necessary.
