We are seeking a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the Raleigh-Durham area. This role will contribute to the successful planning, coordination, and execution of projects from preconstruction through completion, working closely with clients, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and internal project teams. Responsibilities may be tailored to experience level, with opportunities for professional growth and increased project ownership.
Key duties include developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and procurement plans; coordinating design, permitting, estimating, and construction activities; reviewing plans, specifications, submittals, change orders, and payment applications; and monitoring progress, quality, safety, and compliance with contractual requirements. The successful candidate will help lead project meetings, prepare status reports, track risks and issues, support contract negotiations, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders. For construction-phase assignments, responsibilities may also include coordinating field activities, resolving technical or operational challenges, documenting project records, and supporting commissioning, closeout, and final deliverables.
Candidates should have experience in water, wastewater, utilities, civil construction, or a closely related field. A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, environmental engineering, or a similar discipline is preferred, along with demonstrated experience supporting or managing infrastructure projects. Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential. Familiarity with project management software, scheduling tools, contract administration, construction documentation, and relevant industry standards is highly valued. The Project Manager should be capable of independently managing multiple priorities and leading project teams, while the Assistant Project Manager should demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and a willingness to develop technical and leadership skills. Occasional travel to project sites throughout the Raleigh-Durham region may be required.
