Capital Project Coordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised and proactive Capital Project Coordinator to support the successful delivery of capital investment and improvement projects. Working closely with project managers, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders, you will help ensure projects are planned, monitored and completed safely, efficiently and to agreed standards.

You will provide comprehensive coordination and administrative support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning and procurement through to construction, completion and handover. The role will involve managing project information, coordinating meetings, tracking actions and supporting the preparation of reports for relevant stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate capital projects, programmes and associated activities in line with agreed objectives, timescales and budgets.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, records, schedules, risk registers and action logs.
  • Arrange project meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and follow up outstanding actions.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, expenditure and key milestones, escalating issues where necessary.
  • Support procurement processes, including the preparation of documentation and liaison with suppliers and contractors.
  • Coordinate communication between internal teams, professional advisers, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with reporting, financial forecasting, performance monitoring and project close-out activities.
  • Help ensure compliance with relevant health and safety, quality, procurement and governance requirements.

About you

You will have experience of coordinating projects, ideally within construction, property, engineering, infrastructure or another capital delivery environment. You should be confident managing competing priorities, maintaining accurate records and working with a range of stakeholders. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to identify potential delays or risks and take appropriate action.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, together with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook. Experience using project management, financial or document control systems would be advantageous. A relevant qualification in project management, construction, business administration or a related discipline is desirable, although practical experience will also be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity for a capable coordinator seeking to develop their project management career while contributing to the successful delivery of important capital works.
