Project Manager (Airport Capital Improvement)) – Orlando, FL*
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a portfolio of airport capital improvement projects in Orlando, Florida. This role will oversee projects from initial planning and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout. The successful candidate will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, maintain alignment with operational requirements, and deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with applicable aviation, building, and environmental standards.
Responsibilities include developing project scopes, budgets, schedules, risk registers, and execution plans; managing design consultants, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders; reviewing plans, specifications, estimates, submittals, change orders, payment applications, and construction documentation; and monitoring progress through regular site visits, meetings, reports, and performance reviews. The Project Manager will identify and resolve issues, lead coordination among airport operations, facilities, security, engineering, finance, and regulatory stakeholders, and ensure that work is planned to minimise disruption to passengers, tenants, airlines, and ongoing airport activities. Additional duties include supporting permitting and approvals, maintaining accurate project records, overseeing quality assurance and safety compliance, and providing clear updates to senior leadership.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, business, or a related discipline, together with substantial experience managing complex capital projects, preferably in an airport, transportation, infrastructure, or other highly regulated environment. Strong knowledge of design and construction processes, contract administration, cost control, scheduling, and project risk management is required. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, commercially aware, and confident communicating with technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with project management software, construction management systems, and standard office applications is expected. Professional certification such as PMP, CCM, PE, or a comparable credential is desirable. The position requires the ability to work on active project sites, respond to time-sensitive issues, and occasionally adjust working hours to support construction activities or operational needs.
