Water / Wastewater Staff Engineer

We are seeking a Water / Wastewater Staff Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role will contribute to projects across the full design lifecycle, including feasibility studies, investigations, concept development, detailed design, technical documentation, construction support, and commissioning. You will work with experienced engineers and multidisciplinary project teams to develop practical, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions for water supply, treatment, collection, storage, and conveyance systems.

Key responsibilities will include preparing engineering calculations, design reports, drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical assessments; supporting hydraulic modelling and system analysis; undertaking site investigations and condition assessments; reviewing contractor submissions and technical queries; and assisting with construction inspections and resolution of design issues. You will help ensure that all work complies with relevant legislation, industry standards, health and safety requirements, environmental obligations, and project specifications. The role may also involve coordinating with clients, contractors, authorities, and other technical disciplines, as well as contributing to project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and quality assurance processes.

Applicants should hold a degree in civil, environmental, water, wastewater, or a related engineering discipline, with relevant professional experience in water or wastewater infrastructure. Experience with hydraulic analysis, pipeline and network design, treatment processes, pumping systems, or water resources projects will be highly regarded. Familiarity with engineering design software, hydraulic modelling tools, and common technical documentation platforms is desirable. You will be expected to demonstrate sound engineering judgement, strong attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage competing priorities. A collaborative approach, commitment to continuous learning, and willingness to work across office and site environments are essential. Professional registration or progress toward registration is advantageous.
