Assistant Project Manager - level 2

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of projects from initiation through to completion. Working closely with project managers, internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders, you will help ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This is a level 2 role suited to a motivated professional who has gained practical project coordination experience and is ready to take on increased responsibility.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, action logs, and other project documentation. You will coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, monitor progress against milestones, and follow up on agreed actions. You will support the preparation of reports and presentations, track project costs and resource requirements, and help identify and escalate risks, issues, dependencies, and potential delays. You may also assist with procurement activities, supplier coordination, change control, testing, implementation, and project close-out activities.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting projects in a structured environment, with the ability to organise competing priorities and work effectively across multiple teams. Strong communication, attention to detail, problem-solving, and time-management skills are essential. You should be confident using standard project management tools and Microsoft Office applications, particularly spreadsheets, document management, and presentation software. A recognised project management qualification, or a willingness to work towards one, would be advantageous. You will be expected to demonstrate a collaborative approach, professional judgement, accountability, and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
