We are seeking a Site/Civil Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of civil construction and infrastructure projects from planning through to completion. This role will suit an experienced engineer who can combine strong technical knowledge with practical site-based problem solving, effective communication and a commitment to safety, quality and programme performance.
Key responsibilities will include reviewing drawings, specifications and contract requirements; assisting with project planning, design coordination, procurement and construction methodologies; and providing technical support to site teams, subcontractors and consultants. You will monitor progress against agreed programmes, budgets and quality standards, identify risks and resolve issues promptly. The role will also involve preparing and reviewing technical documentation, RFIs, method statements, inspection and test plans, progress reports and variations. You will coordinate site inspections, verify completed works, support quantity and cost tracking, and ensure construction activities comply with approved designs, relevant standards and statutory requirements.
Applicants should hold a degree or recognised qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline, together with relevant experience in civil construction or infrastructure projects. Experience with earthworks, drainage, utilities, roads, pavements, concrete structures or similar works will be highly regarded. You will need the ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications, use project management and reporting systems, and work confidently with design consultants, clients, suppliers and delivery teams. Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills are essential, along with a proactive approach to resolving problems and managing competing priorities. A current driver’s licence and relevant site safety certifications may be required. You will help ensure that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and relevant regulations.
Key responsibilities will include reviewing drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies; assisting with project planning, programming, and resource coordination; monitoring site progress and quality; and resolving technical issues as they arise. You will prepare and maintain engineering records, inspection and test plans, progress reports, material approvals, quantities, and variation documentation.
