We are seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Project Engineer (Mid-Level) to support the delivery of automation, instrumentation and control system projects from concept through to commissioning. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute to safe, reliable and cost-effective solutions across a range of industrial projects. This role offers the opportunity to work with engineers, designers, vendors, contractors and operational stakeholders while developing your technical and project delivery experience.

Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing instrumentation and control engineering deliverables, including specifications, instrument data sheets, control philosophies, I/O lists, loop diagrams, cause-and-effect matrices, control narratives and equipment schedules. You will assist with system architecture development, PLC, DCS and SCADA interfaces, panel and cable design, procurement documentation, technical bid evaluations and vendor coordination. You will also participate in design reviews, hazard and operability studies, factory acceptance testing, site installation support, loop checking, commissioning and troubleshooting. Maintaining technical quality, project schedules, budgets and accurate documentation will be an important part of the role, as will identifying risks and supporting continuous improvement.

Applicants should have a relevant degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in instrumentation, control systems, electrical engineering or a related discipline, together with several years of experience in instrumentation and controls project engineering. Experience with industrial automation systems, process instrumentation, electrical interfaces and engineering standards is required; familiarity with PLC/DCS/SCADA platforms, functional safety, hazardous-area requirements and industrial communications protocols would be advantageous. You should be comfortable interpreting P&IDs, wiring diagrams and technical specifications, and able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong organisation, problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential. The ability to manage competing priorities and travel to project or client sites when required will be expected.
