Integrated Watershed Management Business Class Lead for Water Resource Plan Formulation

We are seeking an experienced Integrated Watershed Management Business Class Lead to provide strategic and technical leadership in the formulation of water resource plans. This role will guide multidisciplinary teams in developing practical, evidence-based approaches to watershed management, balancing environmental protection, community needs, economic priorities and long-term water security. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of planning frameworks, investment priorities and implementation pathways that support resilient and sustainable catchments.

Key responsibilities will include leading the preparation and review of water resource plans; coordinating hydrological, ecological, environmental, social and economic assessments; and translating complex technical information into clear recommendations for decision-makers and stakeholders. You will establish project objectives, manage scope, budgets, schedules and risks, and ensure that deliverables meet applicable legislative, regulatory and quality requirements. The role will also involve facilitating consultation with government agencies, Traditional Owners, communities, industry groups, environmental organisations and other interested parties. You will build strong working relationships, manage competing perspectives and support transparent, inclusive decision-making throughout the planning process.

Applicants should have substantial experience in integrated water, natural resource or catchment management, including demonstrated involvement in strategic planning, policy development or complex environmental programs. A relevant tertiary qualification in water resources, environmental science, hydrology, natural resource management, engineering, planning or a related discipline is desirable. You will bring strong leadership, program and stakeholder management capabilities, together with the ability to interpret scientific evidence, assess risks and communicate with influence at both technical and executive levels. Experience working within regulatory frameworks, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and delivering outcomes in complex or changing environments will be highly regarded.
