Solar Site Safety Manager - California

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Site Safety Manager to oversee all health and safety operations for a utility-scale solar construction company in California.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans in compliance with Cal/OSHA and company standards.

  • Conduct regular site audits, risk assessments, safety inspections, and toolbox talks.

  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Maintain accurate records of safety metrics, incident logs, training completion, and compliance documentation.

  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety protocols.

  • Act as the on-site liaison for all safety matters

  • Deliver HSE orientation and ongoing safety training for all site workers and visitors.

  • Promote a safety-first culture through behavioral safety programs and incentive systems.

  • Monitor high-risk activities such as electrical work, heavy equipment operations, trenching, and lifting operations.

  • Ensure proper use and availability of PPE, fall protection, fire safety, and lockout/tagout procedures.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 5 years of safety management experience on large-scale construction projects, preferably utility-scale solar or renewable energy.

  • In-depth knowledge of Cal/OSHA, OSHA 1926, NFPA 70E, and environmental regulations.

  • Valid OSHA 30 Certification required; CHST, CSP, or other safety certifications preferred.

  • First Aid/CPR/AED certified.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
